The Mouse Brace is a convenient device that is capable of replacing the existing optical mouse. It consists of a wrist brace that houses the mouse circuitry. The Mouse Brace is a sensor based device that consists of an accelerometer and two flex sensors. Alternatively, the flex sensors can be replaced with metallic contacts. The accelerometer senses the direction in which the Mouse Brace is moved. Flex sensors or metallic contacts are used to enable mouse clicks. A microcontroller receives data from the sensors and converts them to appropriate signals. The whole setup is encased in a glove that can be worn by the user. The Mouse Brace can be connected to a personal computer or laptop via an RS232 cable, a PS/2 cable or Bluetooth.
